Mushroom Garlic Uttapam

Classic Uttapam with a wack of difference

Ingredients for batter

  • Idli Rice or Parboiled Rice (1 & 1/2 cup)
  • Urad Dal (1/2 cup) /whole or split
  • Methi Seeds or Fenugreek Seeds (1/2 tsp)
  • Water (2 cups approx.)


  • Go to the market and get ready made batter 😀

Ingredients for garnishing

  • Onions & Tomato
  • Jalapenos, Ginger & Garlic
  • Mushrooms


  • Finely dice the vegetables
  • Mix them together and add Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Heat the pan
  • Spread the batter with a ladle and garnish it with the vegitables
  • cover the batter with a lid and let it cook on low flame
  • Flip the Uttapam when cooked from one side
  • Serve it hot and eat with a Green Chutney 🙂
